4.5 stars

Just a shortie review   ** spoiler alert ** A well written, fast paced and compelling story. Great characters. I love all their different abilities. Sam is the perfect baddie. One question is not quite answered though – at the end when both Uriel and Ellie change does that mean he is no longer vamp boy? I am guessing that is the case. Also where is Angel in all this? I read the prequel not long ago and Sam and Ellie feature in it,but it is about Angel and how she looks out for the Archesses… so other than being Ellie’s online chat buddy sometimes where is she in all this and why isn’t she helping out? I love the twist at the end with Samael’s gift – interesting – aren’t those supposed to work on all of them? Does that mean he is something different altogether?  Looking forward to following the others on their journey to discovering their archesses… i am guessing Sam will be a thorn in their side all the way along – that might get tiresome. When will Angel make a reappearance? Great action scenes. Could do with a little more heat though – why skip over the dressing room scene? Looking forward to the next instalment.

Goodreads synopsis:

The first in a brand new series from the NYT and ebook bestselling author of the Big Bad Wolf series. If you loved The Heat, The Strip, The Spell and The Hunt, you will love THE LOST ANGELS. For fans of J R Ward, Nalini Singh and Charlaine Harris.

Four thousand years ago, four archangels were cast down to Earth in human form. God’s favourites, they came to find the other half of their souls, without whom they will ever be complete. Uriel, Gabriel, Azrael and Michael, however, were not alone. They were followed by another, determined to find the archesses for himself. After centuries of fruitless searching the archangels – and their enemy – have all but given up hope.
Until one day beautiful Eleanore Granger crosses paths with Uriel, the Angel of Vengeance. And as a storm rages, outside forces conspire together, initiating an age old battle of good versus evil to win the first archess.
